Arnhem, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Ajax slumped to a third defeat in its last four games on Sunday as Lasse Nilsson scored a pair of goals for Vitesse in a 4-1 win for the home side. Nilsson opened the scoring seven minutes into the game but had it canceled out by Luis Suarez for Ajax in the 15th minute. However, a goal from Dalibor Stevanovic and one more from Nilsson before the break put Vitesse up two goals before halftime and Ricky van Wolfswinkel added a fourth in the second half. The result leaves Ajax in third place, 14 points behind runaway leaders AZ Alkmaar, while the win is Vitesse's third straight and it lifts them seven points above the bottom three. The hosts started well by taking the lead inside of seven minutes, with Claudemir's cross finding Nilsson inside the area. Ajax felt Nilsson was offsides, but the flag stayed down and he rounded goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg before finishing into the empty net. Ajax was back on level terms eight minutes later when Urby Emanuelson's free- kick was nodded into the bottom-left corner by Suarez, but Stevanovic restored the lead in the 40th minute when he worked his way into the box and found the upper-right corner of the net with a well-placed shot. Nilsson added to his tally right before the break when he stabbed home Wolfswinkel's cross, and again the visitors complained about offsides. There was no way back into the game for Ajax and they conceded another goal in the 68th minute with Santi Kolk's cross setting up Wolfswinkel for his fifth goal of the campaign. PSV Eindhoven moved to within one point of Ajax after Edison Mendez scored two goals in a 5-3 win over last-place Volendam, second-place Twente was held to a 2-2 draw despite a pair of goals from Blaise N'Kufo, Utrecht scored three unanswered goals to beat Den Haag 3-1 and Feyenoord held out for a 0-0 draw with Groningen despite Norichio Nieveld being sent off in the 42nd minute.
