New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Saturday for his verbal abuse of officials following Thursday's 110-109 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Celtics guard Ray Allen had his potential game-winning jumper in the waning seconds of OT altered by Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher, who appeared to hand- check Allen before his shot fell off the mark to secure LA's win. All-Star forward Kevin Garnett also fouled out late in the fourth quarter for Boston, giving Rivers more fuel towards officials after the setback. |
