Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Twins avoided arbitration with pitcher Matt Guerrier Thursday and signed the reliever to a one-year deal. Guerrier is set to earn $1.475 million for 2009 and was the last remaining arbitration-eligible player for Minnesota. The 30-year-old right-hander, who was also eligible for arbitration last year, went 6-9 with a 5.19 earned-run average with one save in 76 appearances on a one-year deal in 2008. Over four-plus seasons with Minnesota, Guerrier is 9-17 with a 3.66 ERA and three saves in 240 games, including three starts.
