Turin, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Juventus striker Amauri has pledged his international future to Brazil. The 28-year-old South American had been considering an approach to represent Italy after failing to make a single appearance for the Selecao throughout his career. But despite qualifying via nationality rules, the former Palermo star wants to play for the country of his birth. Amauri was called up by Brazil coach Carlos Dunga for next week's friendly against Italy but Juve blocked his appearance as the game does not fall within an officially recognized FIFA international window. "There is no way I will choose Italy over Brazil," he said. "I will continue dedicating myself to the club and looking for my place in the Selecao. I hope to be called again by Dunga next time Brazil plays." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
