Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets have agreed to a three-year contract with left-handed pitcher Oliver Perez. According to the New York Post, the deal is worth $36 million. Last season, the 27-year-old Perez went 10-7 with a 4.22 earned run average in 34 starts. Perez also struck out 180 batters in 194 innings, but issued a major league-leading 105 walks. He was acquired by the Mets from Pittsburgh in 2006 and has gone 26-20 over 70 starts with the Mets. In parts of seven major league seasons with the Padres, Pirates and Mets, Perez has gone 55-60 with a 4.39 ERA in 175 games -- 174 starts.
