Memphis, TN (My Sportsbook) - Pau Gasol had 24 points and eight rebounds against his former team, and the Los Angeles Lakers surged in the second half to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies, 115-98, at FedEx Forum.

Kobe Bryant added 25 points and seven assists for the Lakers, who have won six of seven and are 2-0 on their six-game road trip. Lamar Odom chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds, while Derek Fisher posted 14 points in the win.

"We took care of the ball in the second half, operated in our offense and executed like you're supposed to execute," Lakers head coach Phil Jackson said.

The win wasn't without some bad news for Los Angeles, as center Andrew Bynum suffered a knee injury in the first quarter and had to be helped off the court. He had recorded five consecutive double-doubles and had seven points in only five minutes of action before leaving for good.

X-rays were negative. He is expected to undergo further testing Sunday morning.

"I didn't hear any pops, basically I just hurt the knee, the inside of my leg," Bynum said.

Rudy Gay had a team-high 23 points and six rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have lost 12 straight and are 0-3 under new head coach Lionel Hollins. O.J. Mayo added 21 points, while Mike Conley had 13 in defeat.

"Everybody's on board, you can see improvements," Memphis' Hakim Warrick said, referring to the teams' adjusting to Hollins. "We've just got to be able to bring it for a full 48 minutes."

Marc Gasol, brother of Pau, contributed 13 points for Memphis.

Behind by six at halftime, the Lakers quickly grabbed the lead in the third, beginning the half on a 12-4 burst to take a 67-65 edge on Pau Gasol's basket two minutes in. Later, with Memphis ahead 78-77, LA ripped off 10 consecutive points, as Odom's layup with 2:38 left made it 87-78 in favor of the visitors.

Los Angeles had a 91-82 edge after three quarters, and scored the first nine points of the fourth, taking a 100-82 lead on Jordan Farmar's three-point play with 8:37 to play.

Memphis didn't get closer than 11 the rest of the way.

Conley scored eight points in the opening quarter, as Memphis held a 29-26 lead heading to the second.

The Grizzlies maintained their edge, 61-55, at halftime.

Game Notes

Los Angeles will also take on New York, Toronto, Boston and Cleveland on its road trip...The Lakers lead the season series, 2-0...Bynum missed the second half of last season and the playoffs after suffering a kneecap injury in January of 2008, also a game against the Grizzlies.
