Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) - David Lee's 35th double-double of the season helped push the
New York Knicks to a 122-113 victory over the
Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Lee, who is now tied with Orlando's Dwight Howard for the NBA-lead in double- doubles, ended with 23 points and a game-best 17 rebounds for the Knicks, who have won three straight and six of their last seven.
Al Harrington, who was drafted by and played the first six years of his career with the Pacers, dropped 31 points on his former team. Quentin Richardson tallied 15 points on 5-of-8 three-point shooting in the win.
T.J. Ford poured in a career-high 36 points and doled out five assists for the Pacers, who had won two in a row coming in. Danny Granger added 19 points and eight boards, while Mike Dunleavy and Stephen Graham had 14 points apiece.
The Knicks held a slight 29-28 lead after the first quarter. Then, despite trailing by as many as 63-44 in the second frame, the Pacers closed out the half on a 9-3 run to close within 67-55 at the intermission.
"We got out of the gate slow and could never get the game in our control," said Ford. "We were not even close. This was a time when we played very poor stretch defense and you can't win games that way."
Lee's layup, followed by five points from Harrington to start the second half, opened a 74-55 New York cushion early in the third.
Two free throws from Ford sparked a 13-5 Indiana run that cut it to 84-73 midway through the third.
The Pacers eventually trailed 99-87 heading into the fourth frame.
The home team cut it to 111-103 with 3:05 left as Dunleavy hit a jumper and Granger drained a three-pointer.
Two buckets from Ford made it a seven-point game within the final minute, but Indiana failed to get any closer.
"In the transition game they hurt us a little bit," said Lee. "T.J. Ford killed us all night, running the ball up the floor."
