Newark, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Jamie Langenbrunner tied the game with 30.1 to play and scored the game-winner with one minute left in overtime as the New Jersey Devils won their eighth straight with a 4-3 decision over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Devils thoroughly dominated the extra session and got the extra point as Travis Zajac slid a pass from the right circle to the left where Langenbrunner blasted a one-timer past Marc-Andre Fleury for the win.

"We play four lines that keep coming at you and feel that it's only a matter of time before we'll score a goal," said Langenbrunner. "It was a bit of a struggle finding the net at the beginning of the year, but it's starting to come together now."

Brendan Shanahan had a goal and an assist while Bobby Holik also lit the lamp for the Devils, who moved five points ahead of the idle New York Rangers for first place in the Atlantic Division. Scott Clemmensen made 13 saves in the win.

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin each had a goal and an assist while Fleury made 39 saves for the Penguins, who have dropped two of their last three.

"We've gotta make sure we finish teams off," said Crosby. "They played better than we did in the third period and were able to tie it up."

Trailing by two goals late in the third, the Devils made it a one-goal game on the power play as a left circle faceoff win was drawn back to Shanahan, who blasted the puck cleanly past Fleury with 8:01 to play.

In the final minute of play with Clemmensen on the bench, the Penguins won a defensive faceoff, but they were unable to clear the puck and Langenbrunner's soft backhander from the right side went off the pad of Fleury then off the skate of Ryan Whitney and into the net with just 30.1 seconds left in regulation.

Pittsburgh scored twice in a 20-second span in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.

The first goal came at the 9:33 mark of the frame as Ryan Whitney fired a shot on net from the left point that Maxime Talbot tipped past Clemmensen.

Moments later, Malkin slipped past a defender in the neutral zone and from the slot dished the puck over to the right side where Crosby wristed home a backhander for his 19th goal of the season.

The Devils got one back, though, as Shanahan slipped a backhand pass from behind the net to the low right side where Holik snuck it past Fleury with 8:39 left in the first.

The middle stanza passed without a goal as Fleury stopped seven shots in the frame and Clemmensen made six saves.

The Devils dominated the first several minutes of the third period, but were unable to net the equalizer and the Penguins took a 3-1 lead. Crosby dished the puck to Malkin in the neutral zone, and the Russian skated down the right wing and fired a shot that trickled between the pads of Clemmensen at the 8:35 mark.
