(My Sportsbook) - Fresh off a win over the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Columbus Blue Jackets will host the Ottawa Senators in tonight's interconference battle at Nationwide Arena.

The Blue Jackets edged the Detroit Red Wings in an overtime affair Wednesday night in Ohio, giving them a point in two straight and three of their last four games (2-1-1).

Rick Nash's game-winner with 1:33 remaining in OT completed his hat track, and lifted the Blue Jackets to a 3-2 win over the Red Wings.

Nash also had a power-play tally and shorthanded marker in regulation, as the Columbus captain notched his third career hat trick and first of the season. He now has a team-leading 22 goals on the season and is also tops on the Blue Jackets in assists (24) and points (46).

Steve Mason made 21 saves for the Blue Jackets, who snapped a two-game slide in addition to a five-game losing streak against Detroit.

The Blue Jackets, who have won four of their last five home tests, are playing the second portion of a four-game homestand tonight. Columbus has a solid 14-7-1 record at Nationwide this season and will also welcome Dallas and St. Louis during this residency.

Meanwhile, the last-place Senators have been relatively hot lately, winning four of their last six contests. Ottawa was dealt a 4-1 setback by visiting New Jersey on Tuesday, but rebounded with Thursday's triumph in St. Louis.

Rookie Peter Regin netted his first NHL goal with 1:57 left in regulation, as the Senators topped the Blues, 3-1, at Scottrade Center.

Mike Fisher had two scores for Ottawa, which won just its sixth road game of the season. The Senators improved to 6-14-3 away from home, and have won two consecutive road contests.

Rookie goaltender Brian Elliott made 22 stops to improve to 4-2-1 on the season.

Ottawa is last in the Northeast Division with 41 points, but is just three points behind Toronto for fourth place.

Tonight's tilt marks the middle segment of a three-game road trip for the Sens, who will also visit Washington this Sunday.

Ottawa has a 3-2- all-time record against the Blue Jackets with a pair of ties, but Columbus has notched victories in each of the last two meetings. In fact, the Sens last beat the Blue Jackets on November 13, 2003 in Ottawa and haven't earned a road win in the series since February 6, 2002.
