Rosemont, IL (My Sportsbook) - Jerome Dyson led the way with 18 points as No. 2 Connecticut topped DePaul, 71-49, at Allstate Arena.

Jeff Adrien recorded a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the Huskies (19-1, 8-1 Big East), who have won eight in a row after their only loss, to Georgetown. A.J. Price added 12 points and Hasheem Thabeet scored 11 in the victory.

Dar Tucker posted a game-best 20 points for the Blue Demons (8-13, 0-8), losers in eight consecutive games. Will Walker contributed 12 points with a team-high six rebounds.

UConn led by just six heading into the second half, but pulled away to record the easy win.

Craig Austrie hit a jumper to start a 13-5 run and completed a three-point play to end it as the Huskies assumed a 54-40 edge at the 7:13 mark. Michael Bizoukas drained a three for the Blue Demons to interrupt the charge, but Adrien sank a layup on the next possession and Connecticut turned that into a 9-2 burst completed on another Adrien bucket for a 63-54 game with 6:54 to play.

Austrie hit once more to push the visitors' lead to 67-47 with 3 1/2 to go, and Dyson made four free throws to finish off the contest.

Connecticut used an early 7-0 burst to break a deadlock with a little less than seven minutes played, but an 8-4 DePaul run got the home team within 19-16 after Tucker hit two from the line.

Dyson made a lay-in to trigger a 15-4 UConn run from there, and Price's three made it 34-20 with 5:42 left in the first half. However, the Demons ended things at a 15-7 clip to get within 41-35 at the break. Tucker had seven points during the run, including a three.
