Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Rasheed Wallace's 25-point, 10-rebound and five-steal effort helped the Detroit Pistons cool off the Minnesota Timberwolves, 98-89, at Target Center.

Allen Iverson logged 19 points, while Rodney Stuckey and Antonio McDyess each chipped in 14 points for Detroit, which had lost seven of nine coming in. McDyess also hauled in 10 rebounds, while Stuckey dished out six assists.

"I just wanted to get the win," Iverson said. "A win is a win...It gives us confidence going into (upcoming games against Boston and Cleveland)."

Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince each added 11 points in a winning effort.

Minnesota came in with a 10-2 record in January but couldn't keep up with the Pistons down the stretch. Al Jefferson finished with 24 points, while Kevin Love had 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

The T-Wolves owned an 84-79 margin near the six-minute mark of the fourth before Iverson and Stuckey recorded back-to-back field goals to make it a one- point game.

Following two Love free throws, McDyess made two consecutive buckets, the latter a mid-range jumper coming off his offensive rebound to give the Pistons an 87-86 lead.

Wallace then hit a pair of free throws and hit from the same spot as McDyess on the previous possession, and the Pistons suddenly led, 91-86 with 1:16 left.

Minnesota's Randy Foye then missed 1-for-2 from the foul line and Wallace capped his terrific night with a three-pointer and a block on Foye on the ensuing possession with under a minute to play, as the Pistons finished things off at the stripe.

Detroit held an early lead, 14-6, before Minnesota scored eight straight to tie things up. The Wolves eventually took a 24-22 lead into the second quarter and were ahead 52-50 at the break.

Ryan Gomes and Jefferson combined to score nine straight points in the third, putting the hosts up, 67-56, with under five minutes to go, only to have Detroit claw back and trail just 72-71 leading to the pivotal final frame.

"We should have pushed it when we had an 11-point lead," Love said. "We had a chance to push it to 15-20 (points) and we didn't do that."

Game Notes

Detroit lost to Minnesota, 106-80, at home back on November 23...Foye and Gomes contributed 15 and 10 points for Minnesota, which had 11 turnovers to Detroit's seven...There were 22 lead changes and 26 ties in the game.
