Nashville, TN (My Sportsbook) - Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed will not play in the 2009 version of the Pro Bowl, and Tennessee's second-year safety Michael Griffin will make the start for the AFC in Reed's place. Reed, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, recorded a league-leading nine interceptions this past season for Baltimore, which knocked out the top-seeded Titans in the AFC Divisional round of the playoffs. Griffin, who tied for second in the league with seven interceptions to go with 81 tackles and one sack, is among eight Titans to make the Pro Bowl this season. Strong safety Chris Hope, cornerback Cortland Finnegan, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, center Kevin Mawae, running back Chris Johnson, offensive tackle Michael Roos and quarterback Kerry Collins also made the AFC roster. "It was a blessing to be an alternate with all of the great safeties in our conference, but to actually get the chance to go is a huge blessing. All I can do is thank God for this opportunity," Griffin said. "It's going to be great being out there with some of my Titans teammates, friends and family."
