Tampa, FL (My Sportsbook) - Terry McAulay has been selected as the referee to head the seven-man crew that will officiate Super Bowl XLIII between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

McAulay, who is concluding his 11th season as an NFL game official, previously served as the referee for Super Bowl XXXIX between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. This will mark his 10th career playoff game. He's also officiated five conference championship games, two divisional playoff contests and one wild card game.

Joining McAulay will be umpire Roy Ellison, head linesman Derick Bowers, line judge Mark Perlman, field judge Greg Gautreaux, side judge Michael Banks and back judge Keith Ferguson. The Super Bowl crew has a combined 55 years of NFL officiating experience and has combined for 43 postgame assignments.

Bob McGrath is the replay assistant and will be working his sixth postseason game.

Under the NFL officiating program's evaluation system, the highest-rated officials at each position with the appropriate experience earn the right to work the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl officials must have five years of NFL experience and previous playoff assignments.
