Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - First baseman Sean Casey, most recently with the Boston Red Sox, will reportedly retire. The news was first reported on the Web site of Boston sports radio station WEEI. The report said Casey will retire and join the newly launched MLB Network, which went on-air on January 1. Casey, 34, hit .322 in 69 games last season for the Red Sox, with 17 runs batted in. The three-time All-Star spent eight of his 12 MLB seasons with Cincinnati, and also played with Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Detroit. In 1,405 career games, Casey owns a lifetime .302 batting average and .367 on- base percentage, with 130 home runs and 735 RBI.
