Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The death of Shane Dronett, who played 10 seasons in the NFL and his last six with the Atlanta Falcons, was reportedly ruled a suicide.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's office ruled Dronett's death a suicide Thursday. Dronett, a former defensive tackle for the Falcons, was found dead in his Gwinnett County home on Wednesday. He was 38.

The paper also reported that Gwinnett County police responded to a 911 suicide call that came from Dronett's wife.

A second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 1992, the 6-6, 300-pound Dronett amassed 44 career sacks. He played four seasons for Denver before joining the Falcons, reaching the Super Bowl with the team in 1998.
