Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Mariners acquired pitcher David Aardsma on Tuesday from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for minor league pitcher Fabian Williamson. The 27-year-old Aardsma was 4-2 with a 5.55 earned run average in a career- high 47 games for the Red Sox in 2008. He missed time last season with two stints on the disabled list with a strained right groin. "Adding David to our roster gives us another quality bullpen arm," said Mariners executive vice president and general manager Jack Zduriencik. "He has over three years of major league experience and is a former first-round draft pick. We are excited to give him the opportunity to help bolster our bullpen." Originally taken 22nd overall by San Francisco in the 2003 draft, Aardsma has compiled a 10-3 record with a 5.29 ERA in 128 career relief outings with the Giants (2004), the Cubs (2006), the White Sox (2007) and Boston.
