Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - The Kansas City Royals signed left-handed pitcher Jimmy Gobble to a one-year contract Monday, avoiding arbitration. Per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed. Gobble, 27, went 0-2 with one save and an 8.81 earned run average in 39 games in 2008. In six career seasons, all with the Royals, Gobble has a 22-23 record in 235 games, 43 starts, and a 5.23 ERA.
