Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Dirk Nowitzki hit the game-winning jump shot from above the foul line as time expired as the Dallas Mavericks snapped the Philadelphia 76ers seven-game winning streak with a 95-93 win at the Wachovia Center.

Nowitzki scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Jason Kidd contributed 22 points, hitting on 6-of-8 from three-point range and added 12 rebounds and six assists for the Mavericks, who have won two straight after losing their previous four games.

Jason Terry chipped in with 20 points off the bench and Josh Howard donated 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Lou Williams led the 76ers with 25 points off the bench and Andre Iguodala had a solid game with 18 points and 12 boards for Philadelphia, which lost for the first time since dropping a 108-106 decision at San Antonio on January 3.

Andre Miller registered 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Thaddeus Young chipped in with 11 points in defeat.

Sixers forward Elton Brand missed the contest, still recovering from a dislocated shoulder and hasn't played since December 17. He is expected to return to the lineup when Philadelphia hosts the New York Knicks on Saturday.

With Philly trailing 93-81 with 2:05 left in the fourth quarter, Miller's two free throws and an Iguodala dunk made it an eight-point game with 1:40 left.

Following a Dallas turnover on the next trip down the floor, Iguodala nailed a three and Williams followed with a trey of his own after another Mavs miscue to make it a 93-91 contest with 49 ticks remaining.

Antoine Wright then missed a three-pointer with the shot clock winding down and an Iguodala running layup tied things with eight seconds left.

After a foul on Reggie Evans, Kidd inbounded the ball with a shade over four ticks to go, got it to Nowitzki with Evans draped all over him and the German forward nailed the fade away shot from above the foul line as time expired. The play was reviewed to ensure Nowitzki got the shot off before the final buzzer and it was upheld.

"We need to take wins however way we can get them," Nowitzki said. "Whether it's a two-point win at the buzzer or if we win by 20. We got to take the wins however way we can get them."

Philadelphia held a 22-16 lead after the opening quarter, then opened a 12- point advantage at 46-34 after Royal Ivey hit from behind the arc with 3:02 left in the half. However, the Mavericks scored the last eight points of the stanza to narrow their deficit to 46-42 heading into the break.

The 76ers built a seven-point lead in the early stages of the third quarter, but Dallas came back in a big way.

Nowitzki and Kidd spurred the squad on a 14-0 run at the tail end of the quarter to give the Mavs a 74-63 lead after three. Both players combined for 25 of the team's 32 points in the third.

In the fourth and the Mavericks up 74-63, the visitors appeared to have control of the contest until the final two minutes of play.

"We really came back at the end and they never game up," Sixers head coach Tony DiLeo said. "That's the essence of our team. They always try and play hard, sometimes it just doesn't workout."

Game Notes

Dallas continues its four-game road trip at Milwaukee on Wednesday...The Mavs recently beat Philadelphia, 96-86, on January 2 in Dallas and have won six of the seven matchups. Dallas has also won six of its last 11 in Philadelphia...Ivey finished with 11 points...The 76ers improved to 11-7 under DiLeo.
