Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Miami Dolphins signed a pair of free agent defenders on Monday including two-time Canadian Football League Most Outstanding Defensive Player, linebacker Cameron Wake. Wake garnered the defensive award in each of the past two seasons while suiting up for the British Columbia Lions. Over that stretch Wake totaled 137 tackles, 39 sacks, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two blocked field goals. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder was named the CFL's Outstanding Rookie in 2007 with a a league-best 16 sacks. His 23 sacks the following season was also a league-high. A four-year letterman at Penn State, Wake took the field in 48 contests and started 30 times at both linebacker and defensive end. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2005 by the New York Giants. Miami brought another former Nittany Lion into the fold, signing safety Ethan Kilmer as well. Kilmer spent the last three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, appearing in all 16 games as a rookie in 2006. He split the 2007 season on the Bengals' 53-man roster and injured reserve. In 2008, Kilmer spent the first five games on injured reserve before being cut. Kilmer was a walk-on at Penn State and played safety in 2004 before making the switch to wide receiver the following year.
