(My Sportsbook) - The
Los Angeles Clippers hope to build on their first win in nearly a month Monday when they host the
Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center.
The Clips won for the first time in 2009 on Saturday and improved to 1-2 on a six-game homestand when Marcus Camby scored 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds before leaving early in the fourth quarter with a sprained left ankle, and Los Angeles snapped a 12-game skid with a 101-92 triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Brian Skinner also had 18 points, while Mardy Collins tallied 12 points, 11 assists and four steals for the Clippers, who tasted victory for the first time since a 117-109 double-overtime win over the Pacers on Dec. 19. They lost the following night at Milwaukee to start the monumental skid.
Rookie Eric Gordon notched 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals for Los Angeles, while Al Thornton and Ricky Davis each scored 13 in the win.
Camby is questionable for today's game.
LA, which is a miserable 4-16 at home, will finish its residency with games against its building mate, the LA Lakers, and Oklahoma City.
The Wolves, meanwhile, won the opener of a three-game road trip on Friday in Phoenix when Al Jefferson scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help Minnesota upend the Suns, 105-103, and win in Phoenix for the first time since Feb. 6, 2006.
Craig Smith added 18 points and seven rebounds for the T-Wolves, who have won six of their last seven games and improved to 6-13 away from Target Center.
Kevin Love tallied 13 points and 14 boards in the win, while Randy Foye scored 15. Rodney Carney chipped in 17 points.
Minnesota will finish its trip in Utah on Jan. 20.
The Clips snapped a three-game skid to the T-Wolves on December 6 with a 107-84 rout in Minneapolis.
