College Station, TX (My Sportsbook) - Austin Johnson had 19 points and seven assists, as sixth-ranked Oklahoma held on for a 69-63 victory over Texas A&M at Reed Arena.

Blake Griffin added 16 points and six rebounds for Oklahoma (17-1, 3-0 Big 12), which has won five in a row since losing its lone game of the season December 30 at Arkansas.

Taylor Griffin finished with 11 points in the win for the Sooners.

Josh Carter had 17 points to pace Texas A&M (15-3, 1-2), which has lost two of three. B.J. Holmes ended with 11 points in the Aggies' loss.

Oklahoma led by five at halftime, and stretched its lead to 40-30 a little more than five minutes into the second half on a Taylor Griffin jumper. Several minutes later, Johnson drilled a three-pointer for a 48-34 advantage, and the Sooners continued to lead by double digits through the midway point of the period.

However, two free throws from Holmes and a Derrick Roland three cut the Aggies' deficit to 51-42 with a little over nine minutes to play. Texas A&M continued to chip away, and with under six minutes to go, Chinemelu Elonu sank a layup to get the Aggies within seven. A Carter triple followed that to bring the home team within 56-52.

Johnson answered with a trey of his own with just over four minutes left, though Bryan Davis immediately responded with a layup and, just prior to the two-minute mark, Donald Sloan's three got the Aggies within 59-57.

But the hosts got no closer, as Johnson came up with another three-pointer, and the Sooners made 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.

Oklahoma scored the first nine points of the game, and held a 19-6 lead at the midway point of the first half after back-to-back buckets from Ryan Wright and Johnson. But Carter came back with a three and a layup to prevent Oklahoma from turning the game into a blowout.

Later in the half, Sloan's layup cut Texas A&M's deficit to 25-20, and the teams traded baskets the rest of the period. A three-point play from Elonu got the Aggies within 30-25 at the break.
