(My Sportsbook) - The Charlotte Bobcats will try to extend their winning streak to a season high three straight games tonight when they kick off a four-game homestand versus the Portland Trail Blazers down south.
Charlotte will also host San Antonio, Memphis and Phoenix on the residency and is 10-12 at home this season. It recorded its second consecutive win on Tuesday, when Raymond Felton hit a high-arching jumper with seven-tenths of a second remaining to lift the Bobcats to an 80-78 victory at Detroit.
Felton ended with a game-high 23 points, six rebounds and nine assists, while Gerald Wallace added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte. Emeka Okafor came within one rebound of a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.
In team news for the Bobcats, the club sent sharp shooter Matt Carroll and center Ryan Hollins to the Dallas Mavericks for center DeSagana Diop on Friday. The 7-foot Diop is a defensive specialist with good rebounding skills.
Portland, meanwhile, will close out a four-game road trip Saturday and is 2-1 so far on the trek. It improved to 10-11 away from the Rose Garden this season with a 105-99 victory at New Jersey on Thursday, as Brandon Roy led the way with 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Blazers rookie Jerryd Bayless saw extended playing time due to the absence of starting point guard Steve Blake and notched 23 points and three assists in the win. Blake is out with a separated right shoulder suffered in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
LaMarcus Aldridge netted 20 points and Travis Outlaw put together a 13-point, seven-rebound effort for Portland, which has won four of its last five games overall.
The Bobcats won both meetings with Portland last season, but the Blazers have won five of the eight matchups. Portland has won three of the four meetings at Charlotte.
