(My Sportsbook) - The
Atlanta Hawks conclude a three-game West Coast road swing tonight in Oakland against the struggling
Golden State Warriors.
The Hawks improved to 1-1 on the trek and 8-11 overall on the road Wednesday in Los Angeles, where Josh Smith totaled 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Atlanta hand the Clippers their 12th straight loss via a 97-80 victory at Staples Center.
Joe Johnson added 21 points and seven assists for the Hawks, who stopped a season-high four-game slide despite the absence of talented big man Al Horford. Ronald Murray had 17 points and Marvin Williams 11 in the win.
Horford did not travel with the team for the road trip because of a balky knee and will remain on the sidelines tonight.
The banged-up Warriors, who are in the midst of a season-long seven-game homestand, dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday, when Sacramento's John Salmons nailed a jumper with 1.6 seconds left in the third overtime to lift the Kings to a wild 135-133 victory.
Jamal Crawford had 35 points to pace the Warriors, who battled back from a double-digit deficit in regulation and held a fourth-quarter lead before ending up on the losing end for the sixth time in their last seven games.
C.J. Watson added 26 points and Kelenna Azubuike ended with 16 points and 10 boards in the loss for Golden State, which continues to toil without Stephen Jackson (hamstring), Branden Wright (shoulder), Marco Belinelli (right ankle) and Monta Ellis (ankle).
The Warriors, who are 1-1 on the residency and 7-9 at ORACLE Arena this season, will also meet Washington, Oklahoma City, Cleveland and the LA Clippers on the homestand.
The Hawks have won five of their past six meetings with Golden State, including a 115-99 win in Atlanta on December 19.
