Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - The Milwaukee Brewers avoided arbitration with pitcher Dave Bush on Thursday and signed the right-hander to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. Bush compiled a 9-10 record in 2008 with a 4.18 earned run average over 31 games, 29 of which were starts. The second-round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2002 owns a lifetime mark of 43-46 with a 4.45 ERA in 139 career games (132 starts) with Toronto and Milwaukee. The Wake Forest product was acquired by the Brewers in a 2005 Winter Meetings trade with Toronto. Milwaukee, which lost to Philadelphia in the NLDS, has four players eligible for arbitration in All-Star first baseman Prince Fielder, outfielder Corey Hart, second baseman Rickie Weeks and right-hander Seth McClung.
