(My Sportsbook) - The Buffalo Sabres will attempt to end a frustrating three- game road trip on a positive note when the club skates into the American Airlines Center for tonight's showdown with the Dallas Stars. Buffalo began the trek with a 3-1 loss to defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit on Saturday, then came up well short in last night's meeting with Chicago at the United Center. Jonathan Toews recorded a goal and an assist and Cristobal Huet stopped 22-of-23 shots as the Blackhawks cruised to a 4-1 victory. Ales Kotalik scored the only goal for the Sabres, who had ripped off four straight wins prior to this road trip. Buffalo's two leading scorers, Derek Roy and Thomas Vanek, were both kept off the scoresheet and each had five-game point streaks snapped. The Sabres, who are a respectable 9-7-3 on the road this year, has lost seven of its last nine visits to Dallas but did hand the Stars a 2-1 defeat at the American Airlines Center last season. Buffalo has won the last three meetings in this series. Although Dallas presently resides near the bottom of the Western Conference with 42 points, the team is fresh off an encouraging home win over the powerful Red Wings on Monday. Trevor Daley scored 1:51 into overtime as the Stars ended a two-game slide with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory. Dallas trailed 4-3 late in the third period but tied the score on Steve Ott's power-play goal with three minutes remaining in regulation. The Stars outshot Detroit by a 49-30 margin in avenging a 6-1 loss to the Wings in the Motor City this past Thursday. Marty Turco made 26 saves for Dallas in his 420th career game in a Stars uniform, which tied Cesare Maniago for the most by a goaltender in franchise history. The Stars, who have not won back-to-back games since December 23-27, improved to 10-6-3 at home with Monday's triumph.
