Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Angels avoided arbitration with Chone Figgins, coming to terms on a one-year contract with the speedy third baseman. A switch-hitter, Figgins, who turns 31 next week, reportedly will receive $5.775 million. Last season, Figgins hit .276 with a homer and 22 RBI. He also scored 72 runs and stole 34 bases in 116 games. It was his fifth straight season with at least 30 steals and he's the Angels' all-time stolen base leader with 238. His 223 stolen bases since the start of the 2004 season are second most in AL to Carl Crawford (238). Over seven seasons, all with the Angels, Figgins is a career .290 hitter.
