(My Sportsbook) - The slumping Washington Wizards will open a home-and-home series tonight against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Washington has dropped five in a row and suffered a 97-91 loss versus Milwaukee the last time out on Monday. Nick Young tallied a career-high 30 points for the Wizards, losers of five straight and seven of eight overall. Antawn Jamison chipped in 25 points and Etan Thomas left early in the first quarter with a left knee injury and did not return. An MRI revealed that Thomas suffered a torn MCL and he is out indefinitely. The Wizards will try to stop a four-game slide on the road and own a lowly 2-15 record as the visitor this season. New York put the brakes on a three-game slide and completed a four-game road trip with a 1-3 mark after Monday's 101-95 victory at New Orleans. David Lee scored 24 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Knicks, who got 20 points and 10 rebounds from Al Harrington. Wilson Chandler added 19 points and Chris Duhon ended with 10 points and nine assists. New York center Eddy Curry was scratched prior to tip-off due to a sore right knee, an injury that has kept him out for all but one game this season. He is listed as doubtful for tonight. The Knicks are 8-8 in the Big Apple this season. New York is 2-0 against Washington this season and has won three straight and 15 of the past 22 meetings. The Wizards have lost two in a row and four of their previous five contests at MSG.
