Hobart, Australia (My Sportsbook) - Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia pulled off an upset of top-seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta in the second round of the $220,000 Moorilla Hobart International tennis event, a final Australian Open tune-up. The 20-year-old Rybarikova, ranked 57th in the world, scored a 7-5, 6-3 victory. The tournament is now left without a seed for the quarterfinals. That's because fourth seed Jie Zheng and seventh seed Alona Bondarenko were also second-round losers. Zheng of China was beaten by Gisela Dulko of Argentina, 6-3, 6-3. The Ukrainian Bonadrenko was upset by Czech Petra Kvitova, 6-2, 6-1. In other second-round action Hungarian qualifier Melinda Czink was ahead 4-2 in the first set against Urszula Radwandska of Poland when her opponent retired with an injury. Czech Iveta Benesova was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Italian Mara Santangelo, Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova got past Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro, 6-4, 6-1, and France's Virginie Razzano downed Anne Keothavong of Great Britain, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5. Rybarikova will meet Czink in the quarterfinals, while Dulko faces Benesova. Pavlyuchenkova battles Kvitova in the round of eight. Razzano's quarterfinal opponent will be either Belarusian Olga Govortsova or Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova. The 2009 Hobart champion will claim $37,000.
