Columbia, MO (My Sportsbook) - University of Missouri power forward Leo Lyons was suspended indefinitely Monday due to continued legal troubles from multiple traffic violations. According to the Kansas City Star, Lyons was stopped Sunday night by Columbia police and he couldn't provide proof of insurance for his vehicle and did not have his lights on. Police then discovered an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for an unpaid fine for a previous traffic violation. "I'm going to indefinitely suspend Leo as we investigate the events surrounding Sunday night," Missouri head coach Mike Anderson said in a statement. "Right now we understand that Leo was unable to provide proof of insurance on his car and had a previous obligation that was not met." Lyons, a 6-foot-9 senior, is the Tigers' second-leading scorer this season at 14.6 points per game. "The theme here is responsibility. Leo failed to meet his responsibilities as a driver and it led him to this unfortunate situation," added Anderson. "We preach responsibility to our young men everyday and we are going to help Leo learn from this mistake. We'll continue to monitor the situation and once we feel comfortable that we have all the facts and Leo meets his obligations, then we'll move forward." The Tigers are 13-3 this season heading into Wednesday's game at home against Colorado.
