Columbus, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Rick Nash on injured reserve because of a lower body injury. The move is retroactive to January 6, making the All-Star eligible to return as early as Wednesday. He has missed the team's last two games and will sit out at least Tuesday's contest against Colorado. Nash was named to the Western Conference All-Star team last week. He leads the team with 17 goals, 22 assists and 39 points in 40 games this season. The four-time All-Star is the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 315 points, having recorded 171 goals and 144 assists in 403 NHL games. He was selected by the Blue Jackets with the first overall choice of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Columbus recalled forward Derek MacKenzie from its AHL affiliate in Syracuse to fill the roster spot. The 27-year-old MacKenzie has eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points with the Crunch this season, and in 45 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Atlanta Thrashers has picked up two goals and two assists.
