West Lafayette, IN (My Sportsbook) - JaJuan Johnson scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the 14th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers defeated Wisconsin, 65-52.

Robbie Hummel, who did not play in the team's loss to Penn State, scored 16 points for Purdue (12-4, 1-2 Big Ten), which had lost its first two conference games. Marcus Green provided eight points and seven rebounds in the victory.

"I thought it was important for us to establish our defense and make them score over us and not have any easy baskets," Purdue head coach Matt Painter said. "We had to establish (ourselves) also by getting some defensive rebounds and getting some offensive rebounds and some easy put-backs. I thought (Johnson) did a nice job early on getting some put-backs and easy shots."

Joe Krabbenhoft tallied 13 points and seven rebounds for the Badgers (12-4, 3-1), who had beaten Michigan, Penn State and Northwestern to begin conference play. Trevon Hughes, Marcus Landry and Jon Leuer each had nine points for Wisconsin in the loss.

Down 7-6 early, Purdue ripped off a 9-0 run, as a couple Green free throws put the Boilermakers up 15-7 midway through the opening half.

Purdue continued to dominate the first half, taking a 25-11 lead on Johnson's jumper with 5:29 left. Wisconsin cut into its deficit at the end of the period and trailed only 32-26 at halftime.

Johnson hit a free throw 6 1/2 minutes into the second half for a 41-32 Purdue advantage, and Green's three made it a 49-34 game with 11:37 left to play.

Another basket from Johnson with seven minutes to go put Purdue up, 57-41, and the Boilermakers cruised to the victory from there.
