Provo, UT (My Sportsbook) - Brigham Young University wide receiver Austin Collie announced Friday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2009 NFL Draft. The All-American led the nation in total receiving yards (1,538) and receiving yards per game (118.31) this past season with 106 receptions, including 15 for touchdowns. He ranked 12th in the nation, averaging 162.46 all-purpose yards per game, contributing in both the running game and as a kick returner. The 6-foot-2, 206-pounder tied an NCAA record this past season with 11 consecutive games with 100 or more receiving yards, helping the Cougars to a 10-3 record and No. 16 ranking in the final BCS standings. During his three-year tenure with the school, Collie set five single-season records and is the program's career leader in receiving touchdowns (30), receiving yards (3,255), receptions (215) and 100-yard receiving games (17). Collie garnered both freshman All-American accolades and took home Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year honors in 2004, earned second-team All- MWC honors as a sophomore after returning from a two-year mission in Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and finished as an All- American and All-MWC First Teamer in 2008 during his record-setting junior season.
