Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - Josh Howard led a balanced attack with 19 points, and Jason Kidd filled the scorebook with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists, as Dallas rallied to down the New York Knicks, 99-94.

Antoine Wright joined five others in double figures with 13 points, Brandon Bass notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jason Terry joined Dirk Nowitzki with 10 points apiece. Nowitzki also added seven boards and seven assists for the Mavericks, who won their second straight and for the fifth time in six games.

"I thought it was a good game and I thought it was a great win for us," said Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle. "They (the Knicks) are a very persistent team and they can play every second of the game. We had lapses, but we battled and we certainly didn't disrespect these guys at all."

Chris Duhon scored 24 points with seven assists to pace New York, while Wilson Chandler added 20 points and Al Harrington donated 14 points and six rebounds. David Lee registered a double-double with 13 points and a game-best 15 rebounds and Tim Thomas added 10 points off the bench for the Knicks, who dropped their second straight.

Knicks center Eddy Curry, who missed the first 33 games of the season with a knee injury, had two points in less than three minutes of court time.

"It was frustrating. We were playing hard and competing," Duhon said. "It seems we were doing all the right things, just not catching some breaks and not making some plays down the stretch."

Dallas continued to be a house of horrors for the Knicks, who lost for the ninth consecutive time on the road against the Mavericks and haven't come out victorious in Dallas since December 16, 1999.

The Mavericks have won seven straight and 14 of 15 in the series overall.

The Knicks led 29-27 after one period and took a 59-54 lead into the locker room before Dallas came out and seized the edge in the third quarter. The Mavericks closed the period on an 10-0 stretch to take a two-point lead.

Howard's jumper started the period-closing spurt and James Singleton's pull-up jumper gave the Mavericks an 80-78 advantage.

The back-and-forth duel continued as Kidd's jumper handed Dallas a 87-86 lead, and his three-pointer minutes later extended the edge to 93-89. New York fought back with Harrington's three-point play, cutting the deficit to 95-94 with 2:17 to go.

The Knicks even had their chances to take the lead in the final minute, but Duhon missed a pair of shots and Dallas drained its free throws down the stretch to hold on.

Game Notes

Dallas made 46.9 percent of its shots, but made only 10-of-27 from beyond the arc...The Knicks shot 41.6 percent from the floor and also connected on 10 three-pointers...Nate Robinson donated nine points off the bench for the Knicks, while Singleton scored six points with eight rebounds for the victors.
