New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Orlando center Dwight Howard continues to lead all players in the latest fan balloting results for the 2009 NBA All-Star Game.
Howard, last year's Slam Dunk champion, has received 2,102,368 votes and has a slight lead over Cleveland's LeBron James, who has garnered 1,940,162 votes. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is next with 1,903,798 votes.
While Howard is nearly two million votes in front of Samuel Dalembert at the Eastern Conference center position, James and Boston's Kevin Garnett top the forward slots. Garnett has 1,375,814 votes and is more than 100,000 in front of New Jersey's Yi Jianlian.
The two Eastern Conference guard slots are currently held by Miami's Dwyane Wade with 1,818,717 votes and Detroit's Allen Iverson with 1,278,600 votes. The two are well ahead of New Jersey's Vince Carter (856,498).
Bryant and Houston's Tracy McGrady are the top two vote-getters for the guard spots in the Western Conference. McGrady has 1,216,224 votes, slightly more than the 1,059,161 votes garnered by New Orleans' Chris Paul.
San Antonio's Tim Duncan (1,454,918) and Denver's Carmelo Anthony (905,121) lead the West forward positions, with Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire (894,690) close behind.
The center spot is currently headed by Houston's Yao Ming with 1,758,499 votes. Shaquille O'Neal of Phoenix trails by more than 750,000 votes.
This marked the final balloting update.
Paper balloting will continue through January 11 with wireless tallies ceasing January 19, three days before the announcement of the starters for both conferences.
The 58th NBA All-Star Game is scheduled to take place in Phoenix on Sunday, February 15.
