Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday announced plans to release their oft-troubled cornerback and kick returner Adam Jones. The transaction will be made official on February 9, which is the first day that NFL teams are permitted to make waiver requests. The 25-year-old Jones was dealt from the Titans to the Cowboys in late April -- while still suspended for his numerous run-ins with the law -- in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. Jones, formerly known as "Pacman," was then reinstated to the NFL in June after the one-year banishment and saw time in nine games for Dallas, recording 26 tackles and three fumble recoveries. However, trouble still found Jones in Dallas. In early October he had an altercation with his bodyguard that led to a four-game suspension and a stint in an alcohol rehab center. For his three-year career, Jones has 147 tackles, six fumble recoveries, four interceptions and a defensive touchdown in 39 games. The West Virginia product also has amassed 807 punt return yards with four scores and 1,803 kick return yards.
