Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds re-signed free agent infielder/outfielder Jerry Hairston Jr. to a one-year contract on Wednesday worth a reported $2 million. In 80 games with the Reds last season, the 32-year-old Hairston hit .326 and played six positions. The team went 25-19 when he batted in the leadoff spot. The versatile Hairston, has appeared in 530 career games at second base, 265 games in the outfield, 40 games at shortstop, 13 games at third base, and one contest at first base. In 898 career games, Hairston has hit 39 home runs and holds a .260 batting average.
