(My Sportsbook) - The
Minnesota Timberwolves aim for a third straight win for the first time this season when they take on the
Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.
The Wolves last won three consecutive games from January 12-15, 2007, nearly two years ago. Minnesota has won back-to-back encounters eight times since then, including victories over Golden State and Chicago entering this game.
The T-Wolves won their second straight contest in the Windy City on Saturday when Randy Foye scored 21 points to lead Minnesota past the Bulls, 102-92.
Al Jefferson chipped in 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have won four of six overall and improved to 4-13 away from Target Center. Rookie Kevin Love came off the bench to log 18 points and 12 boards while Ryan Gomes ended with 19 points.
The Grizzlies, meanwhile, snapped a four-game skid and improved to 1-2 on a four-game homestand with a rare win over Dallas on Sunday.
Rookie star O.J. Mayo scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds, as Memphis topped the Mavericks, 102-82, to snap a 13-game losing streak against Dallas.
The Grizzlies' franchise is now just 8-46 all-time against the Mavericks and coming into the contest, Memphis had lost 18 of the last 19 meetings with Dallas and had not beaten the Mavs since a 112-92 victory on November 26, 2005.
Marc Gasol added 19 points in the game, while Rudy Gay and Hakim Warrick each scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards for the Grizzlies, who are now 9-10 in Memphis.
The Wolves have won two straight and three of their last four meetings with the Grizz, including a 108-98 overtime victory on December 29 in the Twin Cities.
