(My Sportsbook) - The
Boston Celtics try to reverse their recent road woes this evening when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Boston fell for the fourth time in its last five road games on Sunday, as it fell to the New York Knicks, 100-88, at Madison Square Garden. Paul Pierce led the way in defeat with 31 points, seven boards and four assists for the Celtics, who have lost four of six since their franchise-record 19-game winning streak.
The Celtics, who had won five straight at MSG and eight in a row over the Knicks dating back to 2005, shot just 29.5-percent in the second half,
Ray Allen added 16 points but failed to hit a three-pointer in nine attempts, while Kevin Garnett finished with just six points. Garnett left the game briefly in third period after getting kneed in the right calf, but returned and should be ready to go this evening.
Following tonight's tilt, the Atlantic Division-leading Celtics return home to face Houston on Wednesday, before hitting the road again with stops in Cleveland and Toronto. Boston is 11-5 away from home this season.
Charlotte, meanwhile, comes into tonight's tilt on a rare winning note, following a 102-92 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday in the back-end of a home-and-home set. Gerald Wallace scored a game-best 24 points in the win, while, Boris Diaw added 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Bobcats, who had lost three in a row, including a 28-point setback to the Bucks on Friday.
Emeka Okafor had 14 points and Raymond Felton 11 in the victory.
On the injury front guard Raja Bell has missed the last three games with a groin injury and is questionable for tonight's affair.
The Bobcats, who will start a four-game road trip in Cleveland on Wednesday, are just 9-12 in their arena this season.
Boston defeated Charlotte earlier in the year and has won three straight and four of the last five meetings. The Celtics have also won four consecutive games in Charlotte after dropping two in a row.
