Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have come to terms on a one-year contract with right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas. The 30-year-old Vargas pitched for the Mets last season, compiling a 3-2 mark with a 4.62 ERA in 11 games (four starts). Vargas, who broke into the majors in 2003 with Montreal, has a career mark of 46-40 with a 4.94 ERA over 164 games (114 starts) with the Expos/Nationals, Diamondbacks, Brewers and Mets. "Claudio provides us with Major League experience and versatility," said Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti. "He's won at the major league level and he can start or work out of the bullpen if necessary."
