(My Sportsbook) - The Central Division-leading
Cleveland Cavaliers hit the road Sunday to take on the hapless
Washington Wizards at Verizon Center.
LeBron James notched a triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, as the Cavaliers clobbered the Chicago Bulls, 117-92, on Friday.
Anderson Varejao totaled a career-high 26 points and eight boards for the Cavaliers, who are a perfect 17-0 this season at Quicken Loans Arena, the only unbeaten team in the NBA at home. Delonte West chipped in 14 points, while Ben Wallace, Aleksandar Pavlovic and J.J. Hickson each scored 13.
The Cavs did receive some bad news, however. It was revealed that starting center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will miss the next month of action with a fractured bone in his left ankle, the same ankle he sprained earlier in the month and sidelined the veteran for three games.
Ilgauskas is averaging 13.8 points and is tied for the team lead with 7.1 rebounds per game.
The Wizards, meanwhile, are coming off a loss in Boston on Friday when Paul Pierce scored a game-high 26 points, and the Celtics returned from their disappointing road trip to rout Washington, 108-83, at TD Banknorth Garden.
Antawn Jamison had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who dropped to 2-13 on the road. Nick Young had 15 points, while Mike James provided nine points in the loss.
Home cooking has meant a lot in this series recently with the host winning five straight meetings during the regular season, including a 93-89 Cavs victory on Christmas Day at the "Q."
The home team has also won eight of nine and 11 of the last 13 meetings in the series but the Wizards are just 4-12 at the Verizon Center this year. Cleveland, while far from perfect on the road, is a solid 10-5.
The Cavs have been able to win in Washington during the postseason, however. Cleveland has knocked the Wizards out of the playoffs in each of the last three years, with every clinching game at the Verizon Center.
