(My Sportsbook) - The
Detroit Pistons aim for their seventh consecutive win Sunday when they embark on a four-game road trip in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
The Pistons will also be aiming for their 11th straight triumph over the Clippers. LA last beat Detroit on November 3, 2002, a 74-72 win in Southern California.
The Pistons won their sixth straight and finished a three-game homestand in perfect fashion on Friday when Rodney Stuckey scored a game-high 38 points and added seven assists, as Detroit held on for a 98-92 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Stuckey, in his second year in the NBA out of Eastern Washington, helped the Pistons extend their win streak with his second big performance over the stretch. In the first contest of the streak, a 104-98 decision over Chicago on December 23, Stuckey netted a career-high 40 points.
He is averaging 22.7 points during Detroit's run, and has helped the club overcome an injury to star guard Richard Hamilton, who missed his fourth consecutive game Friday with a groin injury. The Pistons also played without Rasheed Wallace (sore right foot) and Antonio McDyess (bruised ribs).
Allen Iverson and Tayshaun Prince added 23 points each for Detroit, while Prince also grabbed 10 boards. Amir Johnson finished with 14 rebounds and 10 points in the win.
Hamilton and Wallace are expected to be sidelined again for this afternoon's game while McDyess is listed as questionable.
Detroit, which is 8-6 as the visitor this season, will also face Portland, Denver and Utah on its trip.
The Clips, conversely, lost their sixth straight contest on Friday in Phoenix when Amare Stoudemire finished with 23 points and eight rebounds, as the Suns posted a 106-98 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Marcus Camby had 23 rebounds and 19 points to pace Los Angeles, which played without star point guard Baron Davis (bruised tailbone).
Eric Gordon scored 21 points in the loss for the Clippers, while Fred Jones added 16 points off the bench.
Davis is doubtful for today's game and star power forward Zach Randolph remains on the sidelines with a bruised left knee.
The Clippers, who are just 3-13 at Staples Center, are a dismal 0-9 against the Eastern Conference this season.
