New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook were selected as the NBA's top rookies for the month of December. Rose captured the Eastern Conference award for the second time in as many months after averaging 16.3 points and 6.2 assists. He reached double figures in scoring in all but one game last month. Westbrook earned the Western Conference honor with averages of 15.5 points, 5.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds. He was the only rookie, as well as one of just seven players in the league, to average at least 15 points, five assists and five rebounds in December. Others considered for the awards included Eric Gordon of the Los Angeles Clippers, Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers of Miami, New Jersey's Brook Lopez, Orlando's Courtney Lee and last month's Western Conference winner, O.J. Mayo of Memphis.
