Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with catcher Chris Snyder on a three-year contract through the 2011 season with a club option for 2012 on Tuesday. No further terms of the agreement were disclosed. Snyder, 27, batted .237 in 115 games last season with 22 doubles, 16 home runs and 64 RBI. His 16 home runs were a franchise record for Arizona catchers. Also, he led all NL catchers in 2008 with a 1.000 fielding percentage, not committing an error in 847 chances. "Chris has emerged as a very solid all-around catcher," said general manager Josh Byrnes. "He is also very invested in the success of our pitchers and has emerged as one of our leaders." Over five seasons in the majors, all with Arizona, he is a career .238 hitter with 46 home runs and 186 RBI in 430 games.
