New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin, Atlanta Thrashers center Bryan Little and Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending December 28. Ovechkin tallied six points (five goals, one assist) as the Capitals went 3-0-0 to increase their Southeast Division lead to 10 points. He had two goals and an assist to help Washington overcome a 4-0 deficit to defeat the New York Rangers, 5-4, in overtime at Madison Square Garden last Tuesday. He then scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres the day after Christmas and recorded a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as the Capitals improved to 15-1-1 at home by defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 on Sunday. He ranks second in the league with 49 points (25 goals, 24 assists) in 35 games. Little had an NHL-leading six goals in three games the past week, including his first career hat trick in a 5-4 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. The Thrashers' first pick (12th overall) in the 2006 draft leads the team with 18 goals and ranks fourth on the club in points with 30. Quick posted a 2-1-0 record with a 0.67 goals-against average, .958 save percentage and two shutouts in three games. He recorded his first NHL shutout by stopping 24 shots in a 3-0 victory over Columbus last Tuesday then, after a 2-1 loss to Phoenix on Friday, made 26 saves in a 4-0 victory over the Coyotes on Saturday. Quick was recalled from Manchester of the American Hockey League on December 16 and has posted a 2-2-0 record with a 1.88 GAA, .933 save percentage and two shutouts in five appearances with the Kings this season.
