Lake Forest, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago Bears announced Friday they have placed veteran safety Mike Brown on the season-ending injured reserve list with a calf injury. The 30-year-old left the team's 20-17 overtime win against Green Bay in the second quarter on Monday night. It was the same injury that forced him to exit two other contests this season. Brown, a former Pro Bowl selection, has been hampered with injuries in recent years and has not played a full season since 2003. He missed 14 games in the 2004 season with an Achilles injury, four games in 2005 with a calf injury, and 10 games in 2006 with a Lisfranc sprain in his foot. Brown, who has spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the Bears, only played one game last year. The former Nebraska standout had two interceptions and 73 tackles in 15 games this season. In a related roster move, the Bears re-signed safety and special teams maven Cameron Worrell, who played for Chicago from 2003-06. Worrell had been on the New York Jets roster this year, but was placed on IR on August 30 due to a shoulder injury and agreed to an injury settlement on September 3 after the team terminated his contract.
