Avellaneda, Argentina (My Sportsbook) - Leandro Lazzaro scored a 67th minute goal for Tigre, but it wasn't enough for its first Argentine title as Boca Juniors held on for its 23rd Argentine Championship on Tuesday at Presidente Peron. Despite a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tigre, Boca won the championship in the three team aggregate playoff. After San Lorenzo, Tigre and Boca Juniors all finished with 39 points in the regular season, a round-robin playoff decided the 2008 Apertura. San Lorenzo defeated Tigre 2-1 on Dec. 17 before Boca topped San Lorenzo 3-1 three days later to set up Tuesday's championship deciding match. |
