Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Mariners re-signed catcher Jamie Burke to a 2009 minor league contract on Tuesday. Burke, 37, appeared in 48 games with the Mariners last season and batted .261 with three doubles, one home run and eight runs batted in. Also last season, he made his major league pitching debut on July 6 against Detroit in the 15th inning and took the loss for giving up a run. Over six season in the majors, which included stops with the Angels and White Sox, he has played in 171 games and has two home runs and 37 RBI with a .301 average.
