Frisco, TX (My Sportsbook) - Dallas Stars veteran Sergei Zubov will undergo hip surgery in January that will keep the defenseman out indefinitely, the team announced Thursday. Zubov, 38, was placed on injured reserve last week due the injury. He has missed the last eight games and was also absent for all of training camp and the season's first 12 contests due to pre-season hip surgery. A three-time All-Star, Zubov has recorded four assists in 10 games this season for a disappointing Dallas club. Coming off an appearance in the Western Conference finals, the Stars have plummeted to the bottom of the Pacific Division with a 12-14-4 mark which is the second-worst in the Western Conference, one point ahead of St. Louis. The highest-scoring Russian-born rearguard in NHL history, Zubov is the only blueliner in the league to record at least 30 assists in each of the last 12 seasons. For his career, Zubov has registered 152 goals and 771 points in 1,068 games with the Rangers, Penguins and Stars.
