(My Sportsbook) - Kevin McHale isn't having such a fine start as head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will try to stop an eight-game losing streak tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. McHale is 0-3 since taking over for the fired Randy Wittman on Monday after suffering a 98-86 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday in Minneapolis. Al Jefferson finished with a game-high 29 points and 13 boards for the Timberwolves, who will open a quick two-game road trip in Los Angeles. Randy Foye added 19 points, while rookie Kevin Love grabbed 10 boards to go along with four points in defeat. The Timberwolves will also visit Sacramento on the trek and have dropped four in a row on the road. Minnesota is 2-9 away from the Target Center this season. Los Angeles will continue a four-game homestand Sunday and is an impressive 12-1 as the host this season. It has won nine in a row at Staples Center since a 106-95 loss to the Detroit Pistons on November 14. The Lakers have won two in a row overall and five of their last six games, including Friday's 112-103 victory over the Kings. Kobe Bryant scored 32 points on 11-of-21 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds for Los Angeles, which is 2-0 on the residency and will also host New York. Pau Gasol had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the 19-3 Lakers. LA went 3-0 against Minnesota last season and has won four straight and seven of the last eight meetings. The T-Wolves have lost four straight after winning their last two at the Lakers.
