Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - The Boston Bruins placed forward Marco Sturm on long-term injured reserve Saturday. The move is retroactive to November 17. Sturm has been out of action for the Bruins' last 11 games due to an undisclosed injury. He posted six goals and 12 points in 18 games prior to the setback. The club recalled forward Martins Karsums from Providence of the American Hockey League to fill the roster spot as the B's finish off a home-and-home set with the Atlanta Thrashers in Boston on Saturday. The Bruins won 7-3 in Atlanta on Friday. Karsums registered 11 goals and 27 points in 26 games for Boston's primary minor-league affiliate.
